terms

updated 18 August 2026

in short
  • These terms are the rules for getset.fun. If you create an account or host a room, you agree to them.
  • You must be 13 or older. If local law says you need to be older, that older age applies.
  • Keep names, drawings, and answers fit for a mixed living room. We may rename you, remove content, kick you from a room, pause your account, or stop you using the service.
  • Drawings and answers stay in the room. We do not reuse them in ads or on the public site.
  • getset.fun is a public alpha. It may change, break, or pause.
  • Australian Consumer Law still applies. We cannot write those rights away.
  • The contract is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, except where the law where you live says otherwise.

the agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of getset.fun, a personal project run from Queensland, Australia. There is no company behind it yet.

By creating an account, hosting a room, or otherwise using the host tools, you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice.

Players who only type a name and join a room still need to follow the conduct rules below. The host is asking their living room to play on this service.

the service

getset.fun lets one host run a game on a TV or laptop, while everyone else plays from a phone. It is a public alpha. Features, games, and limits can change.

We do not promise it will be available at any particular time, or that a particular night will finish without a hitch. We will try. That is not the same as a guarantee of uptime.

accounts and age

You must be at least 13. If the law where you live says you must be older to use a service like this, you must meet that age too.

Keep your email accurate so we can send a sign-in link. You are responsible for the rooms started from your account.

Do not create an account for someone else without them knowing. Do not try to dodge a ban with a fresh email.

rooms

A host is responsible for the people they invite: the code, the QR, the group on the couch. If a room gets ugly, the host should end it.

We may close a room, reset a name, or stop a night if the conduct rules are broken, or if the room is hurting the service.

names and conduct

Living rooms are mixed. Display names, room names, drawings, answers, and any other text you send must be fit for that room.

Do not:

  • use a name, drawing, or message that is hateful, threatening, or that targets people for who they are, including race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or origin
  • use slurs, harassment, or sexual content that does not belong on a shared TV
  • impersonate another person, a brand, or the service itself
  • share someone else’s personal information
  • try to break, scrape, or overload the service
  • use the service for anything illegal

If a name fails that test, we may change it, hide it, or remove you. Repeated or serious breaches can mean a pause or a ban. We do not have to give a warning first when the harm is obvious.

Hosts can also remove a player from a room. If you see something that should not be on the TV, write to hello@getset.fun.

your content

You keep whatever rights you have in your drawings, answers, and names. You give us a limited permission to host, display, and store them so that room can run, and so we can keep backups and look into abuse.

We do not reuse room drawings, answers, or nicknames in ads, in public galleries, or on the marketing site. They stay in the room.

Do not submit content you do not have the right to use. Do not submit content that breaks these terms.

our content

Games, questions, art, audio, code, and the getset.fun name belong to us or to people who licensed them to us. You may use them to play on this service. You may not copy a title out as your own product, scrape the question banks, or reuse the art and audio elsewhere.

emails

We will email you to sign in. We may also send occasional product updates about new games or changes to the service.

You can opt out of product updates with the link in those emails, or by writing to hello@getset.fun. We still need to send sign-in and account mail.

australian consumer law

If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, you have guarantees we cannot exclude. Services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for a purpose you made known, and be supplied in a reasonable time.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a right, guarantee, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where we are allowed to limit our liability for a failure that is not a major failure, our liability is limited to supplying the services again, or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

if something breaks

This is a free public alpha run as a personal project. Except for the Australian Consumer Law and any other rule we cannot exclude, we are not liable for lost scores, a ruined night, lost profits, or data we cannot recover.

We are not responsible for what other people in a room say, draw, or do. We will act on the conduct rules when we see a problem or when you report one.

ending or pausing access

You can stop using the service at any time. Write to hello@getset.fun if you want the account deleted.

We may pause or end access if you break these terms, if we have to for safety or law, or if we shut the project down. If we close getset.fun for good, we will try to say so on the site.

which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Courts in Queensland can hear a dispute about them. That does not take away consumer or privacy rights you have in the place you live, including in the UK or the European Economic Area, where those rights cannot be contracted out of.

changes

We may update these terms. The new version lives on this page, with a new date. Last updated 18 August 2026.

If you keep using the host tools after a change, you are agreeing to the new terms. If a change is material, we will try to email hosts or put a note on the site.
